Using careful measurements and a square I layout where the floor panels will have to be notched to fit around the tenon on the center stile and the corner posts. Using a jig saw and chisels, we cut the notches conservatively: it is easier to remove more wood than it is to put some back.
We check the fit often, shave out a little where needed and check again. Because we're using 1/4" Baltic Birch Plywood for the floor, it will not flex enough to allow the floor to be cut in one piece and "popped" in.  So the floor is being split lengthwise. Supports under the floor will prevent it from bowing or sagging even if loaded heavily, and if we work carefully the center seam will not be obtrusive.
Next we turn our attention to installing the shelf support pins. Because the central divider is only 3/16" Baltic Birch Ply, we install a solid oak slat onto the plywood into which we will drill the shelf pin holes.
Usually, a jig can be used to insure that the holes are the same height at each corner of the shelf, but our clearances here are so tight that this jig is useless. Therefore, a good steel ruler, sharp pencil and a center punch are used to layout the hole locations. Before drilling, the measurements are double checked.
After the holes are drilled, we use a special driver to install small steel cups that both strengthen the pin holes and dress them up.
