Compact Kitchen Island

It rained hard most of the night.  But we were up early looking for a break.  Fortunately we got a window just long enough to load.

Heading outThe package gets set into the back of the truck and lashed securely in place.  We load up our luggage (we'll be making an over-nighter of this trip), some drinks and snacks for the road, and just as it begins to rain again off we go!

Unloading at Jim & Ruth'sIt rained steadily and was foggy as we climbed up over the Smoky Mountains.  Once we got past Asheville, NC the rain stopped but it remained misty the entire way.  When we got to Jim & Ruth's they said it had rained all morning.  But it was dry when we arrived.

Inspecting the goodsWe all worked together to carry the island inside and get it into the kitchen.  I installed the shelf and turned it over to Jim & Ruth.  Marie looks on as they check it out.

Right at homeJim and Ruth were pleased with the results.  Jim said he was impressed with how well we matched the design of the doors and the color.  Ruth said it was so beautiful she didn't want to mess it up by using it!  We assured her that it would stand up to use and explained how to care for the butcher block top.
