Mission Rocking Chair

This area of the web site is devoted to allowing you to check out one of the more interesting pieces of furniture that we've built.  Maybe the one you're considering buying.

All thumbnail pictures can be enlarged by clicking them.

To speed page loads for those of us still saddled with low speed internet connections, I've broken this article up into segments with only a few pictures on each page.  This also allows those who are following along as I write the article to jump directly to the latest episode and not have to wait for all the pictures ahead of it to load.

Below is a listing of the segments.&nbap; Each segment is linked to the next and previous segments so you don't have to keep returning here, just click [Next] when you get to the end of a segment, like turning the pages in a book.

Please note that the "days" accounted for do not include weekends, holidays or down days.  Actual length of construction was longer.

  • Day 1 - Preparing the Lumber
  • Day 2 - Roughing-Out the Parts
  • Day 3 - Milling Parts To Finished Size.
  • Day 4 - Mortise & Tenons
  • Day 5 - Trimming, Tweaking and Dry Fitting
  • Day 6 - Sanding
  • Day 7 - Assembly
