The aprons attach to the lower posts to support the base plate and add rigidity to the Nanny Rocker. The first thing to do is lay-out screw hole positions.
Once laid out I use a drill press to bore and counter bore the holes where screws will pass through the posts and into the aprons. Counter boring means that I have one hole large enough for the shank of the crew all the way through the post and other hole large enough for the head of the screw part way through the post so the screw heads are recessed below the surface of the post. These holes will be filled with wooden plugs and sanded smooth.
Here the aprons are attached with screws but not glue. The rockers are set in place for test fitting but not attached and the spreaders are not attached yet, these things will be done in subsequent steps. For now I just want to to a test to see that the legs stand square to one another and everything else will fit.
