The Maria Camila - Bedding

All thumbnail pictures can be enlarged by clicking them.

Marie workingMaking the bedding is a process which took Marie a couple of weeks working in the evenings and weekends as I built the cradle.

Included with each Nanny Rocker is a commercially made mattress: 2" thick foam rubber clad in waterproof vinyl and certified to meet all child safety standards for this use.  Marie makes a mattress cover that is padded and quilted using materials specially made for mattress pads so it is both absorbent and washable.  Dolly looks on and asks if she couldn't have one of these nice soft quilts.

If you choose to add the custom bedding Marie will make a bumper pad that runs around the perimeter of the cradle to keep the infant from knocking his or her head on the side, a quilt and a fitted flannel sheet.  The bumper pad attaches to the cradle posts with ties to keep it in place, yet allow it to be removed easily.

beddingYou may choose the colors and/or patterns of the fabrics to be used.  You may be as detailed as you want: Warren said, "Something for a baby girl, but not too pink, include some yellow and blue." So Marie selected these Mary Englebright prints for one side and some coordinating checks for the other.  The snuggly soft flannel sheet will be a coordinating solid solid color.  If you have a specific print in mind, we will need the manufacturer and the pattern number in order to search for a supplier - or you may purchase the fabric and send it to Marie and we'll remove our materials cost from the price you pay.

To save time and keep the cost down, Marie machine sews all the edge work, but all of the quilting is done by hand.
