What Hardware is Available?

The term "hardware" can be used to cover a vast array of functional and decorative devices, and attempting to cover them all would be outrageously complicated.  Therefore we limit this discussion to knobs and pulls.  You select those and we will use complimentary pieces for the hinges, supports, slides, locks, hasps, straps, and other appliances that may be required.  Naturally if anything needs to be discussed we will contact you.  Or, if you have something special in mind, call or e-mail us to discuss it more fully.

To clarify; a knob is a generally mushroom shaped device grasped between fingers and thumb, a pull is a generally loop or bail shaped device that you slip your fingers behind to use, a pendant is similar to a knob except that it is jointed and the part you pull on dangles down.

We do offer a standard selection of knobs and pulls for you to choose from.  However, you are welcome to stipulate something else if you have seen something special, want to match existing hardware in your home or just want something different.  Non-standard hardware may incur added expense if your preference costs us more than our usual offerings.  You may visit our regular suppliers below.  These will open in a new window, close it to return here.  The prices listed are our cost, administrative, shipping and broken box or minimum order fees will be factored into the price you pay.  When you find one you like, note the supplier and their stock number so you can pass it along to us.  Time spent searching out a drawer pull you saw, but can't remember where you found it, will be billed to your account.  Other suppliers you may want to try include:

Our Standard Knobs

Shaker knobs Shaker knobs are more reminiscent of early American furniture.  Available in oak, cherry, maple and walnut and in 7/8" or 1 1/8" diameters.

Plain bail pullBail Pulls were used on much of the Old World furniture.  They feature a hinged loop that swings down out of the way when not in use, eliminating the "hip-buster" aspect of fixed pulls and preventing things from snagging on them.  The small backer plates are available in metal or porcelain (shown) in various styles.

Bail Pull with backerBail Pull with Backer is a spiffier version of the bail pull described above, incorporating a back plate that can range from a simple oval to a frilly pattern.

Typical Bow PullBow Pull This is a more elegant version of the regular pull, somewhat less traditional.  Styles and finishes vary, find one you like.

Typical wire pullWire Pulls as the name implies are a very simple bent wire shape.  Very popular in contemporary furniture, they are available in a plethora of colors and materials including bright colored plastic.

Mission PullsMission Pulls simulate the heavy iron pulls used on Mission style furniture.  The ones we use are made of anodized cast brass, so they won't rust.
