Important Notes
About Ordering Sample Boards

Smoky Mountain Woodworks is not a distributor for any finishing supplies manufacturer nor do we sell cans of stain or other finishing supplies.

Staining is an additional service and will carry an additional charge.  The amount of this charge will depend on the size and complexity of the piece being stained and whether you choose a Ready Mix color or a Custom Tint color.

We do offer color sample boards but ONLY to our customers who are ordering furniture from us.  This allows you to see a 3" x 6" sample of the wood and stain colors you feel most likely to match your decor based on our vendor's example charts (links below).  Because computer monitors can render colors differently, if the exact shade of color is important, this is a step you will want to take.  If you order sample boards without having an order for furniture in the system the order will not be processed.

We keep an assortment of stain sample boards on hand to show our customers.  If you order a color sample then return it to us in good shape, there will be no charge.  If you keep the boards or if they are damaged beyond use, the production costs and mailing fees will be added to your account balance.  Use the links below to explore the choices, then e-mail us with your selections for stain manufacturer and color.  We will use the same wood and finish as your furniture order.

It can take a few days to a week to produce your color sample board(s) as we may have to order the stain before we can make them up.
