Anne Ibur -- a prominent artist with a hand painted furniture store in St.  Louis MO -- once came to us with a broken spindle from a child's four post bed.  It was an old bed and she could not find a replacement.  She asked if we could make her an exact duplicate to replace the broken spindle.  We did, and she was so impressed with our work that she wanted us to reproduce the entire bed for her.  We've made several of these for her since then.

4 post beds are available in paint grade poplar (as shown) or your choice of hardwoods.  A bed like this can be made for a twin or full sized mattress (not included).  The steel rails (shown) will be replaced with wooden side rails (match the bed) and 5 1x4 spruce bed slats.  The wood side rails use bed rail hooks on steel pins for strength and easy disassembly.  The posts for this bed are made from laminated hardwood stock to help prevent them from bowing.
