Tammy has a sea-side vacation home, and when she says' sea-side, she means water lapping at her porch steps.  She wanted a sturdy porch swing they could sit on and enjoy the ocean breezes and sunsets, but would also require a minimum of maintenance while they were away.  We built this Plantation Porch Swing design out of Evergrain decking material, fastened it together with marine grade stainless steel hardware and used galvanized boat anchor chain and shackles to hang it.

If you like this Plantation Swing design, but don't need the severe weather resistance that Tammy does, we'd be happy to build you one in white oak or cedar for normal outdoor use.  Prefer another design?  Check out the Swing Plans web site from our Plans Directory page, they have lots of nice designs.
