This desk was created as a reproduction of an antique French desk for hand painted furniture artist Anne Ibur.  Ms. Ibur provided us with a photo from a very old book and we took it from there.  We built this one out of poplar and M.D.F so she would have smooth, very stable surfaces on which to do her hand painted artwork.  We did a little homework and used the same style of drawer slides and lock that were typical for this era.  This French Desk and chair went into her showroom when it was done, and the combined effort received rave reviews.
