This huge desk was a special request from our County Mayor.  He and his wife had just built a log home on their horse ranch and he needed a desk that was large enough to accommodate his work load, yet fit into his rustic "cowboy" theme.

We took measurements of the space he had dedicated to this piece of furniture, and he gave us a rough sketch of his ideas.  We built the desk of wormy red oak and included some spalting and a few bark inclusions, then gave it a medium Danish Oil finish, which made it look like wormy chestnut.

Because of it's size (9 feet long) the desk had to be made in sections that could be taken apart for delivery and reassembled on site.  After we completed the set-up, Mayor McMahan explained,  "Before we even began construction of this house, I knew where I wanted this desk to go and what it should look like.  And this... is exactly what I dreamt it would be.  Thank you for making my dream come true!"
