A child sized version of a unique piece of furniture, peculiar to the south, which originated when nannies were expected to keep their young charges close at hand all the time.  With this rocking chair - cradle, the child could rest in the cradle part while the nanny sat doing needle work or sewing and rocking them both.

The nanny rocker shown above is made red oak, the one at right is stained spruce to produce a beautiful, sturdy yet light weight addition to your child's playroom.  It's also available in a selection of other finished hardwoods and primed Poplar -- for those who wish to paint it to match their playroom decor.  Use the buttons at left to explore woods and finishes.

The rocker measures 36" long, x 24" wide (at the rockers) x 24" high (seat back).  A 48" long version (scaled up by 30%) is available for use by older children, add $200 to the price quoted.  The optional bedding includes reversible mattress, bunting and quilt and is all hand sewn by Marie.  (Dolls and child not included).
